Is this your lesson diary?
The scheduling app for tutors and music teachers. $9/month flat — you and up to four helpers included, unlimited families and lessons.
1 month free. No card.
Your free month
It fits, because somebody makes it fit.
Tell us how you run things. We build the rest.
First
Start the free month
Your email and your business name. That is the whole signup. 1 month free. No card.
Then
Write to us in the app
Talk to Anda is a screen in the app, and a real person reads it. Say what is missing, how you colour your calendar, which screens you never use. Several of the screens on this page began as one customer writing to say what she was missing.
Rather not start with an empty calendar? Send your client list, a spreadsheet, or a photo of your paper diary to contact@tendmatehq.com, and we set it up for you before you log in. Included in the price.
By the end
An app that fits your business
What you ask for gets built, free, and it arrives for everyone. Your job types, your colours, only the screens you use. $9 a month after, you and up to four helpers included.
One price. That is the whole pricing page.

Before you start
Questions people ask
Does it text or email my clients?
Not yet, and if you want it, ask: a feature a customer asks for gets built, and it is free. Emails to your clients would cost you nothing. Text messages would be a small package, because the SMS providers charge for every message sent, not us. Today TendMate keeps the schedule and the records, and you message your clients the way you already do. For somebody who asked for a price it keeps the message you sent and what they replied.
Can my clients book online?
Not yet. Your work is the same clients coming round again and again, so the calendar fills itself in from how often each one is due, and a new enquiry is written down as a lead with the day to come back to them. If your clients want to book themselves, say so: a calendar you share with your free days, where a client picks one, is the kind of thing we build for the person who asks, at no extra cost. We will work out together what suits your business best.
What does a helper see?
The schedule, the addresses and the notes for the work she is sent to, on her own phone. Not your prices, your expenses or your totals. You choose, screen by screen, what each helper can open.
What if I have more than four helpers?
Contact us. Extra seats are $1 a month each, and we add them for you. Tell us how you run them too: if you want them in teams, or there is something that would make managing them easier, that is exactly the kind of thing we build for you, free.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. Everything you need is on the phone already, and it catches up when you are back in range.
I already have a spreadsheet, or another app. What happens to it?
Send it to us: a spreadsheet, a CSV, an export from another app, or a photo of your paper diary. We bring your clients, your schedule and your history across before you log in, and that is included in the price.
What happens after the free month?
$9 a month, flat, for you and up to four helpers. No card is taken during the month, so nothing is charged unless you choose to carry on. Cancel any time and export everything, clients, visits and history, in one click.
Your lessons are in a diary and your invoices are in your head.
Not because you like it. Because the software built for your trade starts at $16.95 a month at TutorBird and My Music Staff, and grows from there — and most of what it does is not what a tutor with fourteen students needs.
So two siblings on piano and violin, at two rates, billed to one parent, get worked out on a piece of paper at the end of the month. That is the whole problem we are solving.
Today, and after
Why most lesson diaries fall apart
The next date
On the spreadsheet
Nearly every diary we have seen has the same flaw: it holds the next lesson. That works until one student misses a week for a school trip, one drops to fortnightly for the exam term, and one only books before a recital. Now every date after that is wrong, and the only way to fix it is to write the term out again.
In TendMate
The fix is small and it changes everything: record the last lesson, not the next one. The last lesson is a fact — it either happened or it did not. The next one is arithmetic:
Next due = Last lesson + Frequency (in days)
Weekly = 7 · Fortnightly = 14 · Only when booked = no interval
Move a lesson, lose a week to half term, change one student's cadence for the summer — you only ever update one thing, and every date after it corrects itself. That is the whole trick, and it is what TendMate is built around.
What you get
One family, several students, one statement
The family is the account and each student sits under it with their own subject, rate and cadence. At the end of the month one statement lists every lesson for every child in the house, so the parent gets one document and you write one.
One clock per student
Say how often each student has a lesson and the lessons place themselves on the calendar. The sister who comes weekly and the brother who comes fortnightly come due on their own days.
You and your helpers, flat
$9/month covers you and up to four helpers. More helpers are $1 a month each. No cap on families or lessons. A helper covering a lesson sees the student — the subject, the level, last week's homework — and not what you charge for it.
The homework goes on the lesson
Time, duration, what was set and how it went are written against the lesson they belong to, on the phone, before the next student arrives. Expenses live alongside for the year end.
Your data stays yours
Export everything — families, students, lessons, history — in one click, any time. No contract, cancel whenever, and take your data with you.
Built for you if…
- The same students come every week, and more than one of them lives at the same address.
- You teach at the kitchen table, at your own, or over a call, and the schedule should not care which.
- You have taken on a second tutor and need to share the week without sharing your rates.
- You would rather send one statement per family than chase three.
- You want something genuinely simple — not “simple” with forty settings.
1 month free. No card. Your email and your business details — that is the whole signup.
